I'm Susan Farber, a Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Aromatherapist. I offer a collaborative approach to aromatherapy that blends my expertise in mind-body modalities with your unique emotional, mental, and physical needs. We'll co-create a personalized essential oil blend that elicits a positive mind and emotional feeling, resonating on a deep body level to support your overall well-being.
These sessions are beneficial for stress management, emotional regulation, and nervous system support. Scent has a direct connection to the emotional centers of the brain. It can bring you into the present time and serve as a powerful tool to elicit a calm, focused, and intentional state of being.
The process begins with a brief online intake form, followed by a 60-minute session—offered in person or remotely. During our time together, we’ll create your custom blend, and you’ll learn how to use associative learning and mind-body techniques to anchor the scent so it can reliably evoke a positive emotional state.

Case Study
Sarah is a 24-year-old woman who presented in a negative state of Fear of Loss. She reported anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep disturbance following treatment at the emergency room for a severe allergic reaction to medication. The session entailed guiding Sarah in blending 2-3 essential oils that elicited a relaxed feeling upon inhalation. Of particular interest, Sarah chose Bergamot, Citrus bergamia, and Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, out of the 18 available oils. Energetically, Bergamot is known for its relaxing, restorative, and calming properties, and Lavender for reducing anxiety and fear. Sarah was then taught to induce a relaxed state using controlled breathing and the mantra, I am assured, paired with the blend's aroma. She was to practice blending exercises daily in the morning, afternoon, and before bedtime to anchor the scent. Two weeks later, she reported no longer experiencing daily generalized anxiety, sleeping a full 8 hours a night, and being able to prevent the occurrence of a panic attack. Sarah further reported that imagining the scent itself helped her feel relaxed.
